Biography

Born in Barcelona in 1987, she had her first contact with music at the age of 10. She received a Minor Degree in Guitar Performance at the Municipal Music Conservatory of Barcelona, where she also began her career as a soprano.

In 2013, she finished her Classical Vocal Arts at ESMuC (Music College of Catalonia) with the mezzo-soprano Mireia Pintó, with Honors. She has received classes in lied interpretation from Josep Surinyac, Alan Branch, and Francisco Poyato. She has also worked under the instruction of Marta Almajano in antique music. She has received Lied Masterclass lessons from the baritone Juan Martin Royo, as well as from the pianist Wolfgam Rieger. She has also attended vocal Masterclass lessons from the soprano Pina Sofía, the countertenor Richard Levitt, the mezzo-soprano Cynthia Sanner, the soprano Montserrat Caballé and the tenor Josep Bros. She finally completed her vocal tecnique working with the soprano Begoña Alberdi and the pianist Josep Buforn.

In 2010, she won the First Prize in voice at the 10th Premis d’Interpretació Musical (Musical Performance Awards) in Girona, Spain, where she performed in a concert as part of the Festes de Fires. In 2013, she won a Prize in Voice for The Best Interpretation Of a Catalan Song at the VIII Concurs Internacional Germans Pla de Balaguer. In 2014, she was semifinalist in the III Concurso Internacional de Canto City of Elda, Spain.

As a soprano soloist, she has performed in Mozart’s Exsultate Jubilate and the Vespreae solennes de Confessore with the Catalan Classical Chamber Music Orchestra and Faure’s Requiem. In 2013, she was the soloist in Carmina Burana. She performed as a soloist of the newest work from the catalan composer Albert Carbonell that uses the words from Les Homilies d’Organyà played with the Percussions Grup of Barcelona, The Carmina Choir and the Band of St. George at the Barcelona Auditorium.

Regarding songs, she has performed, among others, in R. Strauss's girls Blumenn, and Three Songs of Ophelia, Samuel Barber's Melody Passagères, Albert Guinovart's All, naught, and F. Schubert's The Shepherd on the Rock. She is currently working on a new program about the music of different female composers with the pianist Carmen Santamaria.

Between 2012 and 2015, she worked with the Catalan company Òpera Còmica de Barcelona performing in their three zarzuelas: L'esquella de la Torratxa (as Riteta, the young in love), which was awarded the prize Serra d’Or 2013 for the most interesting project, the zarzuela Reno, What wedding night! (as Angelina, the bride), and the zarzuela El Ceased Married (as Juana, the Spanish bride).

As for Opera, she played the role of Miss Jessel from Britten’s opera The Turn Of The Screw, and Pamina from Mozart’s opera Die Zauberflöte (The Magic Flute) in the Terrace Theater of Joy, Spain, under the Musical direction of Ofelia Sala and Daniel Mestre, and Susana Egea as stage director.

In January 2017, she will perform in the opera Werther at Gran Teatre del Liceu, Barcelona, with the stage director Willy Decker. This year she will also perform in the new opera Jordi i el Leviatà (George and the Leviathan), by Antonio Fajardo, in the role of Daiquini and the enlightened souls, and in Paco Viciana Catalan's new opera entitled You raise or lower (Up or Down) as Rut and Sara.
